Happy 2010 everyone! I am resolving to write more on this webpage and will try to include something for parents and something for my students each week.
A Catholic tradition for the Epiphany is the blessing of doors. With chalk the letters CMB are written, symbolic of the names of the 3 magi (Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar) and also an abbreviation for the Latin blessing Christus Mansionem Benedicat (Christ Bless this House). If your family is interested in this blessing, you can read more about it here. May each of your homes receive "health, purity, the strength of victory, humility, goodness and mercy" and many other blessings! |

I am sorry that we did not have Deacon Chad at the Mass on our all school Mass Tuesday before break. He was sick and was unable to make it. The plan now is for him to be at Mass on Wednesday, January 6th. ....if the good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise.... |

Although St. Peter parish is the home parish of the Reverend Mr. Chad Arnold, he was educated right here at St. Anne School from grade 2-8. By God's grace and mercy Deacon Chad will be ordained a priest on May 30th, 2010. Both Deacon Chad and I are proud and grateful for the part that St. Anne parish has played in his eduaction and faith formation. On Tuesday, the 22nd, Deacon Chad will assist Fr. Mike Simone as his deacon at the 8:00 all school Mass and give the homily. Then, Deacon Chad will visit some of the classes and talk about vocations. To new friends and old, to those who remember school boy Chad and those that are just curious, to those who support the vocation programs and the seminarians and those who want to learn more...come to this Mass and share our joy and gratitude to God for leading Chad on this path. |
