To Our Most Valued Parishioners

You may or may not know that the H1N1 virus has struck nearby schools and parishes.  We place our complete trust in God to keep us safe. But God gave us reason to use in cooperating with His providence. We have already taken precautions in the school.  Now we are doing the same at Mass.

The two most important ways to keep yourself and others safe are:

Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently!

Stay at home if you are sick with flu like systems (and remain at home 24 hours after the fever has subsided)!!

Other precautions at Mass:

We have put out bottles of disinfectant at the entrances and in the sacristy’s to use at your discretion. For those with low immune systems please keep in mind that missalettes and pew backs are probably the least sanitary items in the church.  They are handled by countless numbers of children and adults.

For now all children’s books have been removed from the back of the church.

We will not shake hands at the greeting before Mass, if you choose to do so, know you are taking a risk.

We will not do the sign of peace which is always optional.

We are asking all Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to use the disinfectant at the credence table before distributing Holy Communion. Holy Communion will not be offered from the cup for now. Nothing else will change as far as Communion distribution.  You are strongly encouraged to receive on your hands.  There is a less likely chance of passing on.

These precautions will remain in place until publicly rescinded. Let us all pray for the safety and well being of one another.

Fr. Leland, Pastor
