Have you ever heard it said that a gift is not a gift until it is given? Stewardship is the gift of God's varied graces!

The evangelization team was conceived as a response to the need for the lay faithful to personally witness to the “good news” of being an active disciple of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church.  They are an extension of the Stewardship Council. Our evangelization team members have demonstrated that they understand what stewardship is by their faithfulness to prayer, their personal commitment to serve others and their willingness to embrace tithing.  The team spent over a year reflecting on how they received the call of Christ, how they responded to that call, and what difference that it made for them and their family.

Then their next step was to take their experience of discipleship to the next level by preparing to actually witness to others about what they have come to know and thus encouraging other to experience the fulfillment which comes with embracing a stewardship way of life. Please pray for them as they share their gift of faith with the lives of others by serving on the evangelization team. Evangelization is sharing our faith with others.

· Being able to tell other people how good God has been in your life.

· To be able to see God’s Hand in all that we do and witness that to others.

· Leading people to an initial and/or renewed conversion of life resulting in their dedication to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

· Providing avenues for prayer, reflection, witness and study; which will aid people in growing to an understanding of, and a living out of, the tenets of the Catholic Faith.

· Guiding people in the need for, and the techniques of, evangelistic outreach to those persons whom God has placed in their lives and in their parish family.

It should be the goal of the Evangelization Team to provide leadership and coordination in the area of evangelization and to work with other groups in the parish and act as a catalyst in encouraging all parishioners to respond to their Baptismal Call to Evangelize. While evangelization is everyone's responsibility, someone needs to plan, coordinate, oversee and evaluate efforts. The Evangelization Team is a catalyst in the parish helping all to see evangelization as its normal business.
